Ladies…Keep the Stuffing in the Turkey!

Kristal Richardson

According to Kristal Richardson, this holiday season, “women should keep the stuffing in the turkey and  focus on portion control.” Many of Kristal’s female clients complain that they feel unpleasantly full after enjoying a Thanksgiving feast. Although women typically add healthier options to their plates, such as vegetables, it’s important for them to recognize that they may still be overeating.

Here is what Kristal says to do:

  • Take a long walk before and after the Thanksgiving feast!
  • Trade large portions of carb heavy stuffing and mashed potatoes with protein rich turkey and squash
  • Drink a healthy supplement before the big meal to curb your appetite

Wood Fire

Don’t have a fireplace?  That’s not a problem if you’ve got this…French for “wood fire,” Diptyque’s Feu de Bois candle is infused with scents evocative of firewood, fir trees and autumn woods. Light one on a cold winter night, wrap up in a blanket and enjoy. It burns up to 60 hours.  http://www.diptyqueparis.com/

Alexander McQueen’s Collection for Target

Alexander McQueen has designed a collection for Target. Designing a collection for a mass retailer might seem like a compromise, a declaration of “If you can’t beat ’em, join ’em.” But McQueen stresses the collection he’s designing for Target is entirely his own, no holds barred. “I can’t work with any kind of restraints,” the designer told WOMEN’S WEAR DAILY. “You can’t give me any boundaries.”Nor does McQueen see any irony in the fact that his gowns cost thousands of dollars while his clothing for Target, which operates 1,658 stores in 48 states, will be priced under $129.99. “I was brought up on this,” said McQueen, the son of a London taxi driver. “I wasn’t born with a silver spoon in my mouth.” For more on the Alexander McQueen’s collection for Target, check out the ALL-NEW WWD.COM: http://www.wwd.com/retail-news/mcqueen-on-target-1863903?src=bblast/111808

Gotta’ Get That Stocking Filled!

I needed some ideas for a couple of additional stocking stuffers for my guy.  I am an early shopper! I remembered that I had seen some good products for men in the October issue of Launchpad magazine.  I had not sent it for recycling yet so I checked it out again. Billy Jealous medium-hold Lunatic Fringe Pomade to condition and smoothly hold down his hair sounds fun.  And I love Bioelements so their HIS Perfect Shave is a great product I am sure.  I am definitely picking up the Perfect Shave.

Oh my gosh, I have so many magazines to catch up on! I just got to sit down with the October issue of  NailPro. In the showcase section, they have lots of new products to try. Here are some of them: Body Drench daily moisturizing lotion. It can reduce scarring and increase comfort for women who have undergone mastectomy surgery. Pinnacle Cool Rain Foaming Antibacterial Hand Sanitizer, requires no water & reduces bacteria on your skin. And…The Cuccio Naturale Lyte Ultra Sheer Body Butter Collection of lotions. Time-released emollients slowly disperse into the skin for up to 24hrs. Available in pomegranate & acai, Tuscan citrus & white tea, honey & soymilk, and guava &.  Yum!
